Can you migrate my current website without it going down?

Yes. The method is always the same: we build a complete copy in our environment, test it thoroughly while the old site is still live, and only move the domain once it works. That way, if something doesn't fit, there's no rush and no site down: we keep the old one running until it's sorted. The only delicate moment is DNS propagation, and we schedule it for a low-traffic window. What's worth knowing is that the slowest part of a migration usually isn't technical: it's gathering the logins. Hosting control panel, domain registrar, email, payment gateway if there's a shop. If the previous provider won't cooperate or the domain is registered to someone else, that's where the time goes. We tell you exactly what's needed before we start.

Does it include professional email?

Yes. We set up email on your own domain, with spam protection and calendar and contacts synced across phone and computer. Beyond that, what really makes the difference is authentication: we configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Those three records are what get your emails into the inbox rather than spam, and what stop anyone sending emails pretending to be your domain — the most common fraud targeting small businesses. Badly configured email on your own domain looks worse than a Gmail address, because messages end up in spam without anyone telling you. We also migrate the history from your previous email so you don't lose conversations or contacts. If you're coming from an old shared server, this alone usually fixes the "my emails aren't arriving" problem.

How often do you back up?

Automatic daily backups as a minimum, with enough retention to go back several days, not just to the day before. That last point matters more than it seems: when a website gets infected or someone deletes something by mistake, it's common to discover it three or four days later, and if the only backup is yesterday's, it's already contaminated. Backups are stored off the server itself, because a copy on the same machine doesn't protect against the failure that does the most damage. And most importantly: they're tested. A backup that has never been restored is an assumption, not a backup. If you need to recover your website or specific data, we do it for you, quickly, without you having to wrestle with a control panel. And if you'd like an extra copy on your own computer or a NAS, we'll set that up too.
