Case studies

Projects in the Vallès,
measurable results.

A selection of what we've set up for businesses and homes in Granollers, the Vallès and Barcelona. Each case covers the challenge, the solution and the result, with no hype. Client details are kept confidential.

The method

How a project gets done

The six cases above have nothing in common, but they all followed the same path. We explain it because what decides whether a project goes well is almost never the equipment: it's what's done before buying it.

01

Visit and diagnosis

We go to the site, take measurements and look at what's already installed. Coverage in a warehouse isn't decided on a floor plan: you walk it with the meter and note where the signal drops. The diagnosis is free and commits you to nothing.

02

Fixed-price proposal

One proposal, with the specific equipment and the final price. No items marked “to be determined” that crop up halfway through the job. If something genuinely unexpected comes up, we discuss it before touching anything.

03

Installation without stopping the business

Most of the work is done at agreed times: in shops and clinics that's usually outside opening hours; in industry, during a production shutdown. Any service interruption is planned, not improvised.

04

Handover and follow-up

Everything is handed over documented: what's installed, where and with what access. And you're left with a phone number to call. The figures in each case study come from this stage, not from installation day.

Before you compare

How to read these case studies

A success story is easy to write and hard to verify. These are the rules ours are written by.

Client names don't appear. In infrastructure and video surveillance, publishing who has what installed and where hands information to people who shouldn't have it, so each case study identifies the sector and the town and leaves it there. If you need a named reference to make up your mind, we'll ask the client and pass it on to you by phone.

The figures are the ones measured on that project, not an industry average or a promise for yours. The 99.98 % uptime comes from monitoring that installation over a specific quarter; the six mesh nodes are the ones that house needed, with those walls. Another home of the same size might need four, or eight.

And what didn't work first time is missing. A network project is rarely linear: conduits turn up that weren't on the plan, electrical panels have no free space, an operator takes six weeks to activate the line. That doesn't fit in a three-paragraph case study, but it's the part that most affects the timeframe. Ask us about a specific case and we'll tell you that part too.

FAQs

What people usually ask

Can you put me in touch with any of these clients?+

We can ask them, and in several cases they say yes. What we don't do is publish their name on the website without asking first, least of all on security projects: a case study stating which brand of cameras and which firewall model a particular company has is useful information for people who shouldn't have it, so we'd rather err on the side of discretion. If you're deciding between two providers and need to talk to someone who has already hired us, say so when you get in touch and we'll find the case closest to yours: asking for references for a home isn't the same as for a factory running shifts, and the kind of assurance each client can give you also varies with the project. Bear in mind, too, that these six case studies use stock photography, not photos of the actual sites; the reference that's genuinely useful comes from talking to someone who has been through it, not from the picture.

Do you only work in the Vallès?+

Most of our work is in Granollers and the Vallès Oriental, which is where we're based and where we can be on site in under half an hour. But several of these cases are further afield: the industrial client in Sabadell, the consultancy in Barcelona, shops in Girona and a second home on the Costa Brava. For installations and projects involving building work we go wherever we're needed within Catalonia, because that work is done in a few visits and the travel weighs little on the whole. Day-to-day support is different: there it makes more sense for the client to be close by, because half the value lies in being able to get there the same day if something breaks, and that's only sustainable within a reasonable radius of Granollers. If you're not sure which group your case falls into, tell us and we'll give you a straight answer rather than leave you guessing. Here are the towns we regularly cover.

How much does a project like these cost?+

It depends so much on the site that giving a figure without seeing it would mean making one up. Cabling an open-plan floor and cabling a 1930 building with load-bearing walls are two different jobs with the same name, and the same goes for a camera installation: running cable through an accessible suspended ceiling doesn't cost the same as drilling through stone walls. What is fixed is the method, and it's the same for all six cases on this page: the visit and the quote are free, and the price that comes out of that visit is fixed, with no surprises once work has started. What determines the final figure is what we see on that visit (metres of cable, access points, whether building work is needed), not a generic rate per square metre. Our pricing page lists the services that do have a published starting price, such as IT support, so you can get an idea before booking the visit.

What happens on the initial visit?+

We look at the site with the people who'll use it every day, not just the plans. In a home we check where the fibre arrives well and where it doesn't, which walls really block the Wi-Fi signal and where cable can run without chasing into walls. In a shop or a warehouse we look at the electrical panel, where the network cabling already runs and which areas need camera coverage based on how people move around inside. That gives us the fixed-price quote, and it also tells us whether the project needs building work or not (which makes a big difference to the timeframe) and whether it's best done in one go or in stages so the site doesn't have to stop operating while we work. The visit is free and with no obligation: if you decide not to go ahead after seeing the quote, that's fine. It's the same step all six cases on this page went through before any work began.

How long does it take to complete a project like this?+

The timeframe is mainly set by whether building work is needed or not. A camera installation or a Wi-Fi network on existing cabling is done in one or a few visits, usually in days. When walls need chasing, cable has to go up through a building with load-bearing walls or a whole warehouse needs cabling from scratch, the pace of that building work sets the timeframe, not the technical work itself: that can mean weeks. On multi-site projects, like the shops with a single dashboard, the timeframe also depends on whether we roll out shop by shop or in parallel, and we decide that with you based on how much downtime each site can take without affecting day-to-day trade. On the initial visit we give you a specific timeframe for your case, not a generic range, because that's when we know what's behind the walls and how much building work is really needed.

My project is much smaller than these. Are you interested?+

Yes. Half of what we do is one-day jobs: a router that doesn't reach the back of the shop, four cameras in a store, a computer that won't start with ten years of invoices on it. The six on this page are here because they're easy to explain and show a measurable result, not because they're the minimum size we take on. If your problem is at home, the closest case is Wi-Fi with no dead zones in a detached house or remote control of a flat; if it's a small business, see how cabling properly from the start avoids headaches later on in how many Wi-Fi mesh nodes you need. If it's something small, it's usually sorted sooner and you notice the difference just as much as on a big project: what changes is the size of the invoice, not the care that goes into it.
